As far as Fashion Weeks are concerned, Milan has always been known for conceptual cool and quirky colour—yet again this year, the Milan fashion Week had hit like an inspirational jolt. A new energy seemed to pulse through the city, pushing hair and makeup artists to dig into their kits with a fresh creative spirit. Thanks to beauty pros like Top Pecheux and Guido Palau, beauty hacks at Milan Fashion Week was as memorable as the clothes. Below are the top key trends you should note.
Coloured Eye Streaks
Vivid dustings of colour appeared on lids all over town this week. At Max Mara, Tom Pecheux blocked bands of paint, spreading them out onto the temples while stripes of green and fuchsia shadow were similarly dashed across the eyes at Pucci. For Gucci, makeup artist Yadim drew dreamy lilac up and onto the brows—the next logical evolution in this chromatic trend.
Lips were coated in salmon-pink glitter, reflecting the lights on the runway “like fireworks,” said makeup artist Peter Philips, and paired with sharp, disjointed black eyeliner. The all over look toed the line between punk and pretty in the best of ways. Ladies, clearly the glitter lips aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Time to get on board.
At the Prada collection at Milan, hairstylist Guido Palau created a very sharp, blunt bob with the help of a deep side part and a single bobby pin. Seems like there’s no need to wait for spring to try this look. It’s already here.
