If you have long hair and are bored of wearing it the same old way, here are a few runway inspired tips to help you mix it up and make an impression:

  • If a pony is your g’o-to’ hairdo, dress it up with some mini braids. No fancy fishtailing shenanigans here: simply create a center part, do four basic braids (two at either side of the part and two at either temple), and pin the ends around the elastic to hide it. Bonus points for pinning the braids in an elaborate shape as shown here, but even if you do a simpler version of this look, it’s positively goddess-like.
  • If you usually rock your hair in bouncy curls or beachy waves, give your locks the sleek treatment. Give yourself a good blowout then go over sections with a flat-iron to get it extra-smooth. Pull back to the nape of your neck and secure with a skinny barrette.

  • Headbands are going to be big this season. We love how these zippered bands are the perfect mix of ballerina and badass. For the perfect pretty detail, take a front section, twist back, and secure under the headband. Schoolhouse rock, much?

  • Slightly crimped, mermaid-esque waves were a big trend on this season’s runways, and this look can literally be created overnight. Simply coat damp hair with a shine-enhancing product (a hair serum works fine), tie hair into a low pony, and secure hair in a few small braids. In the morning, let hair loose and pin at the nape with lots of bobby pins — the perfect touch of hardware on an otherwise simple look.
